I’d like to send you my children’s book or manuscript

As the majority of Usborne books (including our baby books, picture books, activity books, novelty books and non-fiction books) are written by Usborne staff writers, we don't accept submissions for any of those types of books. You can find out more about how Usborne books are produced on our Roles and Teams page at Usborne.com.

If you're interested in applying for a job as an Usborne writer, editorial vacancies are advertised on our jobs page.

We do accept submissions for our award-winning fiction list, but we are not able to consider unsolicited manuscripts. That means that you must be represented by a literary agent who can submit on your behalf. Any unsolicited manuscripts sent to us will, regretfully, not be read or returned.

Advice for authors

If you are looking for a literary agent who can approach suitable publishers on your behalf, a good place to start is the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook website at www.writersandartists.co.uk.

We have become aware of some individuals impersonating Usborne staff members and reaching out to authors. It is extremely rare for an editor or any member of our team to contact an author unexpectedly, given that most of our books are written in-house. Any genuine communication from us will always come from an @usborne.co.uk or @usborne.com email address.

Please be alert to impersonators, particularly anyone asking for money. If you are unsure about any communication claiming to be from Usborne, please do not respond and contact help@usborne.com to verify it is genuine.
