What is an Usborne Fact Force school event?

It’s a completely free, virtual event with the Usborne Fact Force – an elite team of Usborne non-fiction authors. Each event consists of a TV-quality video presented by the Usborne authors and packed with eye-popping facts, quizzes and discussion questions.

Each video is available to watch online, when you want to, as many times as you like, completely free of charge. There's also a UK curriculum-linked lesson plan to support each for you to download including lesson plan ideas, printable activities, discussions and quizzes - as well as lots more to explore online via websites carefully curated by the Usborne Quicklinks team.

Both events feature opportunities to pause the video so that your pupils can answer quiz questions or think about/discuss things. There are visual and audio prompts which make it clear when you should pause, and you can take as long as you need before restarting the video. We anticipate that each Fact Force event, with pauses to discuss and vote on things, will take you about 30 minutes to watch.

Each digital event is accompanied by a downloadable, UK-curriculum linked teachers' resources pack, featuring printable activities, discussion questions, group research projects, classroom quizzes and more. You could theme a whole day, or even a whole week, around an Usborne Fact Force event.
